Be sure to sign yourself up for one of the conferences in November and sign your daughter up for this terrific fun-filled day. Adults and girls will eat together. Lunch included in cost.

Gold Award Orientation on Saturday, Nov. 6 in Easton
Gold Award Orientation
Girls, Troop adults, and parents are encouraged to join us for an orientation to the Gold Award Process, the highest achievement a girl can earn in Girl Scouting! We’ll explore the pre-requisites and give tips on tackling the Journey books. We’ll discuss and show examples of root issues and unique perspectives for creating sustainable solutions to them. We’ll go over a timeline of the process and what it takes to earn the Gold Award! When we give girls the tools they need, they spread their wings and fly! This orientation will be held at the Adult Learning Conferences in Easton.

You will go on a scavenger hunt through the Animal Science building and may even come across birds, reptiles, fish and amphibians!

You will have to check the blog twice a month to participate in this group.
Together, the group will chose books to read that are also movies. It is possible that if a book is chosen to read and the movie is coming out we will try to meet at the theater to see it together. Most of the time, we will watch the movies on our own before we gather online to discuss the things we liked and didn't like about the two. Each book will be a 6-week session.
Once registered you can participate in just one book or in all for the year.

Council to Offer Outdoor Skills Day on Saturday, Oct. 16
Troop leaders and adult volunteers can register NOW for the 2nd Annual Outdoor Skills Day at Camp Wind in the Pines in Plymouth on Saturday, Oct 16.
Spend the day learning basic camping skills or attend enrichments focused on advanced cooking skills, outdoor games, campfire songs, nighttime activities and more!

Freedom Trail Event on Saturday, May 1
Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is holding a Walk into History - Boston Freedom Trail event for Brownie through Ambassador Scout levels on Saturday, May 1.
The event begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Boston Common Visitor Center, at 128 Tremont Street. Juliette Scouts and individual scouts may also register, if an adult attends with them.
Get Real. Listen to exciting tales while walking the Freedom Trail! Explore 13 of 16 stops, guided by an interpreter. Walk away with a patch and a great experience.
Walk ends at Old North Church at about 1 p.m.
Please limit number of adults to minimum required with safety-wise rules.
Registration fee is $16 per Scout and $15 per leader/adult.
Registration deadline is about one week prior to the event.

Brownie Registration for Lorax Program in Ashland Closes Tuesday, April 13
Love Dr. Seuss? Read The Lorax in an exciting new way! Create your own story about weird and wacky plants and animals and make your own portable "greenhouse" to take home. (This is a non-patch event.)
This Council-sponsored Brownie program is scheduled for Thursday, April 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. at camp Winnetaska, off Olive Street, in Ashland.
It is for Brownies and Juliette Scouts in grades 2 & 3. Troops and individual Scouts may register. Individual Scouts must attend with an adult. Troop leaders and adults are expected to help with the program.

* Learn basics of the interview technique
Registration fee is $30 per Scout. Adults are free.

Get Smart. Work towards earning the Water Wonders badge from Norfolk Aggie students and their teacher. Marine Biology students will work with the girls to better understand the properties of water through hands-on experiments. Walpole.
Registration fee is $13 per Scout.
