Girl Scouts of Central & Western Massachusetts in connection with the Springfield Science Museum is hosting an overnight for Brownies & Junior Scouts on Friday, May 21 from 6 p.m. through Saturday, May 22 at 9 a.m.
Girls will discover a variety of nature and science related information while connecting with sister Girl Scouts and participating in fun, hands on activities.
Girls will sleep beside a coral reef or next to live animals or the Tyrannosaurus.
An evening pizza party and light breakfast is included.
Everyone views the planetarium show and screen prints their own t-shirt.
Girls will complete requirements for a Try It or badge.
The cost of the badge is not included.
Free and secure parking is available.
This event is for groups and individual Scouts, including Juliette Scouts.
Registration fee is $35 per Scout and $30 per leader and adult.
Troops please adhere to safety-wise ratios.
Individual Scouts must attend with an adult.
Registration deadline is May 7 or when 120 people have registered.

Wild Women Weekend Overnight on June 12-13
Girl Scouts of Central & Western Massachusetts is holding a Wild Women Weekend for all Scout levels at Camp Bonnie Brae in East Otis from 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 12 to Sunday, June 13 at 10 a.m. Juliette Scouts may also register.
PROGRAM: Girls and women only - join us at CBB for a WILD weekend. We'll have a mix of adventurous activities like boating and a visit to the challenge course, but you'll also get the chance to pamper yourself a bit at our "camp spa."
The evening will not be complete until we get our groove on to some wildly wonderful karaoke!! This weekend is for girls and their mother, aunts, grandmothers, troops, and all female Girl Scouts that want to have a WILD time at camp!

Things that Go Bump in the Night program at the Buttonwood Park zoo in New Bedford for Brownies on Saturday, May 15 at 6 p.m. until Sunday, May 16 at 9 a.m. Sponsored by Girl scouts of Central & Western Massachusetts Council, Juliette Scouts in grades 2 & 3 may also register. PROGRAM: Have you ever wondered just what exactly those things that go bump in the night are? Crazy About Animals Zoo Overnight For Cadette Scouts on April 17 & 18
Girl Scouts of Central & Western Massachusetts is offering a CRAZY About Animals! Zoo Overnight for Cadette Scouts at the Buttonwood Zoo in New Bedford on Saturday, April 17 & Sunday, April 18. Event starts at 6 p.m. on Saturday and ends at 9 a.m. on Sunday. Juliette Scouts in grades 6-7-8 may also register. Troops and individual Scouts may register.
PROGRAM: Discover the many careers that exist working with animals. Connect with zoo staff to find out just what it takes to become a zookeeper, veterinarian, field researcher, etc.
Participants will design an animal exhibit, discover (and create) one of the very special things zookeepers do to keep animals healthy and active, and even get a behind-the-scenes look at where the animal's food is prepared - the commissary.
Participation patch is provided which allows free zoo admission through 2011.

Nautical Nights at Battleship Cove on April 9-10
Girl Scouts of Central & Western Massachusetts is hosting a Nautical Nights at Battleship Cove in Fall River on Friday, April 9 and Saturday, April 10 for Junior, Cadette, Senior, & Ambassador Scouts. Juliette Scouts in grades 4-12 may also register.

Program: Bunk in crew's quarters aboard the U.S.S. Massachusetts, a WWII battleship or the U.S.S. Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr., a destroyer, just like the sailors did! Learn to tie knots, take More Code classes, participate in flag-folding presentations, story-telling and historical re-enactments. Feature films will be shown on board Big Mamie.
Scouts will have a full, nutritious dinner, breakfast, and box lunch served in the battleship's Officer's Wardroom. Scouts also receive free admission to the Marine Museum.

Frog Overnight Program for Brownie Scouts on April 9-10 in Worcester
Girl Scouts of Central & Western Massachusetts and Broad Meadow Brook in Worcester is offering a special overnight program for Brownie Scouts starting on Friday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. and ending at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 10.

Program: Did you know that frogs absorb water through their skin so they don't need to drink? Or that some frogs freeze solid in winter? Bring your sense of adventure for an indoor program all about FROGS, an after-dark hike on the wildlife sanctuary, and then cozy up to sleep indoors in our visitor center.
This program is set up for small troops looking for an overnight experience with an outdoor component.
If your group is larger than 15, contact Broad Meadow Brook to set up your own date (other topics and badges are available).

This overnight program also includes, “shopping,” and workshops throughout the mall, a chance to spa, learn about nutrition, art, fashion, fitness, self care, and so much more. Make new friends through fun and adventure!
Each individual Girl Scout and adult will enjoy a meal from the food court as part of the program, and a continental breakfast.
Bring your sleeping bag! (though you may not sleep!) and be ready for an all day/night extravaganza!"

Feb. 1 is Deadline to Register for Mystic Aquarium Overnight During School Vacation Week
Girl Scouts of Central & Western Massachusetts Council is hosting a special Mystic Aquarium Overnight program for Scouts in grades 2-8 during School vacation Week (Friday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. through Saturday, Feb. 20 at 8:30 a.m.)Registration is closing on Feb. 1 or when 125 Scouts have registered.
About the program: The Mystic Aquarium is reserved just for you! Girl Souts will be invited into the aquarium after it closes for a spectacular event.
The aquarium staff will lead 5 different classes during the evening including things like Squid Dissection, Touch and Learn, Behind the Scenes Tour and a surprise class.
Bedtime is about 10:30 pm and lights out at 11:00 pm. See how the marine animals settle down for the night and wake up in the morning.
Morning wake up is at 6:30 am. We will gather our belongings and bring them to our cars. Then, we will gather inside for a guided tour of the outdoor exhibits in the daylight.
After the tour, everyone enjoys a continental breakfast of muffins, bagels, cold cereal, fresh fruit, orange juice and coffee.
Our group has to leave the aquarium at 8:30 am but we receive a special overnight patch and get our hand stamped for free re-entry that day.
The aquarium reopens at 9:00 am.
Adult ratios for this event are a minimum of 4-5 girls to 5 adults.
Juliette and Individual Scouts may also register.

Aquarium Overnight for Juniors on Jan 8-9
Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is hosting a special Overnight for Junior Scouts at the New England Aquarium on Jan 8-9 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Juliette Scouts in grades 4 & 5 may also register.
What better way to learn about strange and fascinating animals and their underwater world! Junior Scouts will spend the evening participating in hands-on science experiments and art activities, then enjoy a snack and bed down to sleep in an exhibit.
The following morning, after continental breakfast, they'll discover the rest of the Aquarium before it opens to the public. They can hear a Giant Ocean Tank Talk or have a guided tide pool experience. Participants are invited to spend the rest of the day exploring the Aquarium.
Each Scout will receive an overnight patch for FREE admission into the Aquarium any day during the calendar year on the patch (wear the patch!)
Troop volunteers are required to attend with their troop, at just the required Safety-Wise ratios of 2 adults for the first 5 girls and 1 adult per additional 5 girls. Juliette and individual scouts must register with an adult.

What better way to learn about strange and fascinating animals and their underwater world! Junior Scouts will spend the evening participating in hands-on science experiments and art activities, then enjoy a snack and bed down to sleep in an exhibit.
The following morning, after continental breakfast, they'll discover the rest of the Aquarium before it opens to the public. They can hear a Giant Ocean Tank Talk or have a guided tide pool experience. Participants are invited to spend the rest of the day exploring the Aquarium.
Each Scout will receive an overnight patch for FREE admission into the Aquarium any day during the calendar year on the patch (wear the patch!)

Astronomy Overnight in Worcester on Jan 29-30 for Brownie Scouts
Girl Scouts of Central & Western Massachusetts, in conjunction with Broad Meadow Brook in Worcester, is offering a special Astronomy Overnight program for Brownies on Friday, Jan 29 from 6:30 p.m. to Saturday, Jan. 30 at 8:45 a.m. Juliette Scouts in grades 2 & 3 may also register with an adult or parent.
The winter months are the perfect time to explore the night skies. Earn your Space Explorer Try-It while participating in fun astronomy activities, then take a night hike on the grounds of the sanctuary.
This program is set up for small troops looking for an overnight experience with an outdoor component.
Note: If your group is larger than 15, contact Broad Meadow Brook to set up your own date (other topics and Try-Its are available).
Trained overnight leader and first aider required with each group.
Try-Its can be purchased separately at the Council store.

Rockin' Overnight at Central Rock Gym in Worcester on Dec. 12-13
Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts Council is hosting a Rockin' overnight at the Central Rock Gym in Worcester for Brownies & Junior Scouts or Juliette Scouts in grades 2-3-4-5. The event starts at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12 and ends at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13.
Event info: You'll have a rockin' good time at this fantastic rock-wall gym on an overnight full of memorable climbing and other fun adventures! There is 14,000 square feet of climbing area for climbers of all levels and plenty of room for your sleeping bags on the padded floors. As the girls learn to climb, there will be climbing races, a super-fun rope swing, bouldering, and more. Pizza dinner and a light breakfast is included.
Trained overnight leader and first aider required with each group.

Council Brownie Event: Plimoth Plantation Overnight Nov. 14-15
Plimoth Plantation's 17th Century Overnight: Get Smart. Families will enjoy this unique overnight experience! Visit Plimoth Plantation’s Wampanoag Homesite and English Village where girls explore the museum’s famous living history sites and interact with our Native interpreters and Pilgrim role players. Then continue with a taste of history as girls enjoy a delicious bicultural dinner.
Upon registrations you will receive information about meals, the itinerary, and sleeping arrangements.
