I am sorry to say that there will not be a town-wide encampment in September.
There wasn't enough interest.
If any troop would be interested in camping with another troop that showed an interest in the encampment please let me know and I will e-mail the troops that wanted to attend the encampment. Please e-mail me at helenasic@... if you have any questions about teaming up with another troop and the process for reserving a campsite.

Fall Encampment Notification Deadline is May 7th
Framingham Girl Scouts and Encampment Director Helena is considering coordinating an encampment in September on the 25-26-27, but she will need to know interest first.
Leaders, please e-mail her directly no later than Thursday, May 7
if your troop is interested with the following information:
**troop #
**leader name(s)
**level of girls
**number of girls
**troop camper and troop first aider, if you have one
Note: The Jewish holiday does not begin until sundown on the 27th

Framingham Girl Scouts and Encampment Director Helena is considering coordinating an encampment in September, but she will need to know interest first.

April Leader Meeting Minutes
All leader meetings this year to be held the first Tuesday of the month at the Plymouth Church.
Next meeting, May 5. Agenda: Spring Registration, End of Year Forms, Bridging June 14, Service Unit positions discussed, new Girl Scout books reviewed
Introductions/Attendance: 10 in attendance
Cookies: questions/concerns to Helena. Incentives expected late April. All troops should have paid by now
Bridging: Town wide event to be held on Sunday, June 15 from 3-6 pm at St Bridget School Hall.
Troops planning to attend include = 2107 Daisy, 2172 Brownie, 2078 Brownie, 2125 Cadette, and possibly 2168 Junior, a separate e-mail will be sent to those troops interested with more specifics including cost. If your troop would like to participate you must e-mail Mary Ann at masager5@... no later than May 1st

* March 22 at 1st United Methodist Church (approx 10 attended)

**Girl Scout Bowling Event -119 bowlers, went very well

Susan keeps this site updated and it has lots of useful information about meetings, events, and much more (www.framinghamgirlscouts.blogspot.com)

End of Year Adult Recognitions: Please e-mail Paula at pbracket@... with requests for: numeral guards (these are the number pins for years as a Girl Scout i.e. 5 year pin), Outstanding Leader, Outstanding Volunteer, etc.
Spring Registration Packets: We expect these will be available at the next leader meeting, watch for update from Deb. FYI: the registration fee for next year has been increased to $12 per person (it has been many years since fees were last raised)
Service Unit (SU) Positions: Please see the attachment of position descriptions. The following members have decided to continue volunteering again next year:

Town-Wide Encampment A Success!
Held the weekend of Sept 19-21, the Framingham Girl Scout Town-Wide Encampment was attended by 10 troops and about 80 Scouts.
The troops enjoyed fabulous weather at Camp Cedar Hill in Waltham.
Brownies earned “Art to Wear” and “Safety First” Try-Its.
Juniors earned “Art to Wear” and “First Aid” badges.
All girls received an encampment patch
A HUGE thank you to Helena for organizing and running such a successful weekend event!

Framingham Encampment INFO - payment & form Due June 1, 2008
FRAMINGHAM TOWNWIDE ENCAMPMENT
AT CAMP CEDAR HILL, WALTHAM, MA
Framingham Girl Scouts are having a Townwide Encampment. An Encampment is where the town has an entire GSEM Camp or a major share of it for the weekend. All Girls Scout Troops in the town are invited to attend. Here is the information about the encampment
Where: Camp Cedar Hill, Waltham, MA
When: September 19 thru September 21, 2008
Check-in: 5:00pm
Check-out: 11:00am
Girl Scout Level: All
Cost: $80.00per troop for the weekend. This includes all campsite rentals and all activities for the weekend. Each troop is responsible for their own food.
If interested please return the form with full payment by June 1, 2008. Mail form and check made out to the Town of Framingham Girl Scouts to Helena Siciliano 3 Patricia Road, Framingham, MA. Any questions please call Helena at 508-877-7902. If your troop does not have a troop camper we maybe able to supply one. Campsites will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. Camp Cedar Hill has heated cabins and flush toilets
NOTE: Daisies will be able to attend for the day on Saturday. Daisies will be responsible for supplying their own meals.
So that as many girls as possible can attend the number of adults that can attend will be limited to what is required by Safety Wise. If your troop would like additional adults please indicate this on the form and your troop will be contacted if there is space available for additional female adults.
Also, if there is a nurse in your troop that would like to volunteer for the encampment please let us know.
