Ice Chips Show Deadline is March, 29

See National, World, & Olympic figure skaters at the Ice Chips show on Saturday, April 10 at 1 p.m. at Harvard University. Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts (GSEM) has partnered with Ice Chips for discounted tickets at just $10. Family members may attend with Scouts.
GET BALANCED Local National competitors and World and Olympic guest skaters will perform with a cast of 100, including Girl Scouts from GSEM.
Girl Scouts can join the skaters for a meet-and-greet immediately after the show.
Parking available for a fee.
Registration deadline is March 29.
Tickets must be picked up at a GSEM office, e-mail Martha Bezzat, mbezzat@girlscoutseasternmass.org, with choice for pick-up location (Waltham, N.Andover, Boston, Middleboro).
The event is for all Scout levels from Daisy to Ambassador. Juliette Scouts in grades K-12 may also register.
The event will be at Harvard University, Bright Hockey Center, 79 North Harvard St.,
Cambridge.

Girl Scout Night at CATS

My Brownie Troop is interested in doing Girl Scout Night at CATS.
I'm posting this to see if another Troop might be interested in joining us.

Broadway in Boston is holding a Girl Scout Night for CATS on Thursday, April 15 at the Colonial Theatre. Curtains rise at 7:30 p.m.
**Tickets are $27. (They are in the balcony).


The Scouts (Brownie level and higher) will be eligible for a Broadway Across America Patch for the back of their vest by attending the CATS show, participating in a pre-show event, a Colonial Theatre tour, and a group Girl Scout photo that night.

The pre-show event is a special meeting with the Animal Rescue League of Boston. scouts will talk about ways you can help care for your pet and get involved with the animal community in your own neighborhood.

Framingham Girl Scouts Bowl

Almost 175 Scouts participated in the Framingham Girl Scouts Me & My Pal Bowling Event on Saturday, March 6. Scouts who participated each received a round bowling participation patch for the back of their vest or sash. The event was planned to coincide with national Girl Scout Week.

Cinco de Mayo Daisy Event on May 2 in Waltham

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is holding a Cinco de Mayo Event for Daisy Scouts on May 2 from 2 to 4 p.m. for Daisy Scouts. Juliette Scouts in grades K & 1 may also register. Troops should adhere to safety-wise rules. Individual Scouts should attend with an adult.
Program: Vamanos! Learn some Spanish words and play some Mexican games. Make a craft to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Adults are expected to help.
The event will be held at Camp Cedar Hill in Waltham.

Registration fee is $10.50 per Scout. Leaders and adults are free.
Registration ends roughly 2 weeks before the event, or when the maximum number of Scouts has been reached.

Archery Afternoon at Camp Green Eyrie in Harvard on April 10

Girl Scouts of Central & Westerm Massachusetts Council is offering a Spring Archery Days event for Scouts of all levels on Saturday, April 10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Camp Green Eyrie in Harvard. Juliette Scouts in grades K-12 may also register.
Event info: Sign up for a one-hour session for a quick basic lesson and free shooting time. All equipment is provided. Troops & Juliette Scouts will be contacted to schedule their hour following receipt of your registration form.

Registration cost is $5 per Scout.
Registration ends on March 26 or when all the slots fill up.
FYI: Troops there is a maximum of 10 Scouts per hour.

Girl Scout Day at CoCo Key Water Resort in Danvers on Sunday, March 21

Sunday, March 21 is Girl Scout Day at Coco Key Water Resort.
This special program offered by Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Council is for all levels of Scouts. Juliette Scouts in grades K-12 may also register with their families.
The Sunday, March 21 event starts at 2 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m.
Coco Key Water Resort is located at 50 Ferncroft Road in Danvers.
Cost for event is $22 for Scout and $22 for all family members, including adults.

Girl Scouts days at the Harlem Globetrotters on March 27 or March 28

TDBank Garden is offering Girl Scouts discounted tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters on Saturday, March 27 or Sunday, March 28.
Shows are Saturday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m. or Sunday, March 28 at 1 p.m.
Loge Tickets are $18.50 per Scout, and includes a participation patch for the back of the vest. Family members may attend at the same special Troop rate. (Ticket saving is about $21 each with this discount.)

School Vacation Week: Disney on Ice - Friday, Feb. 19

Friday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. is Girl Scouts Night at the TD Bank Garden with a special school vacation week performance of Disney On Ice: Let's Celebrate.
Girl Scouts (and their families) can get $16 Loge tickets or $12 Balcony tickets.
Scouts will also receive a Disney on Ice participation patch for the back of their vest.
The special $16 and $12 rate is not just for Girl Scouts but the entire family. Patches will only be awarded to Scouts.

Deadline Approaching for Elite Athlete Program in Rhode Island

Life as an Elite Athlete, Student, and Woman (Providence Friars): Learn from the Providence College Women's Basketball Team - how do they balance it all? Student athletes will speak and participate in basketball drills with Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts.
Participating Scouts will receive a game ticket, food voucher, souvenirs, and a fun patch.
Post game autograph session after the game!
Friends and Family are welcome to attend - and will also receive a food voucher and ticket for the game.
The event is Tuesday, Feb. 16 (school vacation week) at Providence College, in Providence, R.I. starting at 4:45 p.m.
The program is for Junior, Cadette, Senior or Ambassador Girl Scouts or Juliette Scouts in grades 4-12.
The cost is $9 per Scout and $5 per other family member/adult/leader.

Scout Day at the Boston Blazers Lacrosse Game on Saturday, Jan. 30

The Boston Blazers will host a Scout day on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 1 p.m. at the TD Garden in Boston. The Blazerswill battle the Philadelphia Wings.
Inidvidual Scouts and a parent may purchase tickets.
The Blazers have several ways to recognize your Troop within the Garden along with the discounted ticket price of $10, which includes a limited edition Boston Blazers Scouts Patch.
This is the Boston Blazers only afternoon game of the season.
There is no minimum amount of tickets that have to be purchased to qualify for the discount, however if you do want to bring your entire Troop out for the day we do have a few milestone achievements:
* For 50 tickets purchased, your Troop's uniform will hang on the main concourse for all to see along with recognition on the Garden’s HDX Jumbotron and every Scout will receive a free set of glow in the dark Thunder Sticks.
* For 100 tickets purchased, your top cookie seller will be honored on the field and will participate in the Honorary Ball Drop to begin the game.

Group Rates Available for Disney on Ice in Boston on Dec. 26th

There are group tickets available for the Saturday, Dec. 26 7 p.m. show for Disney on Ice. Tickets are $15.50 plus $5 surcharge per order (not per ticket).

Girl Scout Day at CoCo Key Water Resort in Fitchburg on Friday, Nov. 20

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is hosting a Girl Scout Day at CoCo Key Water Resort in Fitchburg on Friday, Nov. 20 from 2 to 8 p.m. for Scouts of all levels!
It's cold out there! Come to where it's always 80 degrees and you can splash, slide and swim all day at CoCo Key Resort in Fitchburg.
The person registering is responsible for distributing admission bracelets to their Troop. Families are welcome.
The cost is $18 per Scout/family member/adult/leader.
Registration is ongoing. This event has sold out in the past.

FREE Engineering Program for Junior Scouts. Must Register by Nov. 5th

Creating the Next Breakthrough Product!
Junior Girl Scouts come spend the day in the life of an engineer.
You will experience how everyday engineers spend their time brainstorming, building and designing breakthrough products.
This program is for Juniors (and Juliette) Scouts and is FREE of charge!
The event is on Dec. 5th at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Woodland Commons.

9:00-9:30 - Greetings and Refreshments
9:30-10:00 - Engineering Introduction and Grouping
10:00-12:00 - Brainstorming and Idea Selection
12:00-12:30 - General Discussion of Results and Refreshments

Girl Scout Night (and ice time) with the Worcester Sharks Game on Nov. 14th

Girl Scouts of Central & Western Massachusetts Council is offering a Girl Scout Night at the Sharks at the DCU Center on Saturday, Nov. 14 for Scouts of all levels from daisy through Ambassador.
There is a pre-game skate from 4:45 - 5:45 p.m.
Game time is 7:05 p.m.
Join the fun planned for Girl Scouts as we root on the Worcester Sharks on this special Girl Scout night!
Bring your skates and participate in the pregame skate and Hockey 101 before the game … for girls, their troops and their families!
Additional activities also include:
* Meet Finz the mascot
* Participate in hands-on activities like a touch-table to try out some of the hockey equipment and a shoot-out net to try your hand at a few shots!
* Troops are also encouraged to participate in the banner contest.
* Every Troop will be recognized on the SharksVision Scoreboard.
* Special Sharks participation patch (for back of the vest) for each ticket purchased!

Women Take Flight: Central & Western Massachusetts Council Field Trip To CT

Girl Scouts of Central & Western Massachusetts Council is holding a special Women Take Flight to the New England Air Museum (Bradley Airport in Windsor Locks, CT) on Sunday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for all Scout levels Daisy through Ambassador.
In its sixth year, Women Take Flight offers Girl Scouts the chance to learn about and meet remarkable women who have pioneered careers in aviation and aerospace, and to work on requirements for Girl Scout Try-Its, Badges, & Recognitions.
Presentations made throughout the day feature experiences and achievements of these women; all situated among the unique collection of aircraft at the New England Air Museum.
Food vendors will be on premises.
Girl Scouts will receive a participation patch (back of vest) and a souvenir program.
This event is open to Troops and individual Scouts with adult chaperone.
The cost is $5 per Scout/adult before Oct 31.
After Oct 31: the cost is Ages 1-11: $6, Ages 12+: $10

Council Offering Mystery Scavenger Hunt in Boston on Nov. 7th

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is hosting an "Invasion Boston: Mystery Scavenger Hunt" on Saturday, Nov. 7.
The event is for Cadette, Senior, & Ambassador level Scouts or Juliette Scouts in grades 6-12.
Event info: Get Balanced. Imagine this, you and over 500 girls from all over eastern Massachusetts converge upon Boston for a raid of epic proportions!
The final destination will be your pay - off for the amazing and complex hunt you will embark upon.
Test your wits, your knowledge and trust your teammates!
Where will you end up?
The secret location will be revealed once you have solved all of your team’s challenges.
Be prepared for anything - a performance, a game, a show, a party, who knows!
There may even be a celebrity sighting???
Your unique team will have regional counterparts (your allies) who will be working with you as you infiltrate Boston from all angles.
You will meet the rest of your super team in person to complete your invasion.
Receive and accept your detailed mission instructions and report to your assigned checkpoint at precisely the right time.
Guides will be ready to assist you along the way (and will show up when you least expect them).
Safety and security logistics and team instructions will be very elaborate for this event and will be included in your detailed confirmation.

Girl Scout Day at OSV - Saturday, Nov. 7

Old Sturbridge Village is offering a Scout day for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts on Saturday, Nov. 7. Registration will remain open until it sells out.
(The event held earlier this spring sold out with more than 1,800 Scouts).
Cost is $7 for Scouts and leaders/adult chaperones.
There are additional badge workshops and fun workshops, at an additional charge.
