cadette, Senior & Ambassador Aid Training in Ashland on Nov. 19th
Program Aide Specialty Training: Songs and Games
This training will add more to your toolkit -- more songs and more games to keep younger girls engaged during activities and down time.
Prerequisite: PA Core Training
Event is for Scouts in Cadette, Senior, or Ambassador levels and/or Juliette Scouts in grades 6-7-8-9-10-11-12.
Training will be on Nov. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. at camp Winnetaska, off Olive Street, in Ashland.
Registration fee is $8 per Scout. Adults & leaders are free.
Registration can be done on the Council's Web site, under programs.

NEW COUNCIL Requirements for Troop Camper and Troop First Aider
FROM GSEM COUNCIL:
Beginning September 1, 2009, troops will be required to have separate adults as First Aider and Troop Camper on while camping.
For safety reasons, GSEM is urging Troops to comply with this now.
At encampments, please consider sharing certified adults among troops if you do not have an adult for a position in your troop.
First Aiders will focus on attending to sick or injured children, while Troop Campers are continue the camp program safely with the rest of the girls.
See Basic Troop Camping and First Aid training dates.

Troop Lodge Camping Skills Training Offered in Waltham
Girls Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Council will offer Troop Lodge Camping Skills Training in Waltham on Tuesday, April 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This training will prepare and qualify you to help girls lead their troop on a camping experience in a Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Council cabin or lodge, Brownie or Monster Camping and incorporate the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. You will gain camping skills that are girl-led through cooperative and learn-by-doing activities. Safety and risk management, what to bring on your trip, menus and meals, Girl Scout program in the out-of-doors and fire building will be covered. You will learn how girls can Discover and Connect to the world outside through activities during camping trips.
Please note that your official camping experience will require another volunteer who is a qualified First Aider.
Leaders are advised to take Troop Lodge Camping Skills 6-8 weeks before taking a troop lodge camping. All training sessions are free.

Leadership Essential Training in Framingham
Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Council is offering a Leadership Essentials Training in Framingham on Wednesday, March 18 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Leadership Essentials is required for both new and experienced volunteers who work with girls in Daisy through Ambassador level troops. By participating in this course participants will learn how to effectively facilitate the new Girl Scout Leadership Experience and explore program materials and badge books. Participants will learn how to facilitate Girl Scout troop meetings and activities so they are girl-led, cooperative learning and learn-by-doing. Participants will also learn about their own leadership style, how it impacts girls and their volunteers colleagues.
