Annie Performance for Girl Scouts at Wheelock Family Theatre on Oct. 23

Wheelock Family Theatre: Annie. GET BALANCED.
The classic American musical illuminating the disparity between rich and poor. GSEM offers premium tickets at a discount, including a pre-show drama workshop, post-show Q&A with members of the cast and a study guide for troop volunteers.
Girls receive WFT Partner button for a free admission to a future performance.

Ice Chips Show Deadline is March, 29

See National, World, & Olympic figure skaters at the Ice Chips show on Saturday, April 10 at 1 p.m. at Harvard University. Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts (GSEM) has partnered with Ice Chips for discounted tickets at just $10. Family members may attend with Scouts.
GET BALANCED Local National competitors and World and Olympic guest skaters will perform with a cast of 100, including Girl Scouts from GSEM.
Girl Scouts can join the skaters for a meet-and-greet immediately after the show.
Parking available for a fee.
Registration deadline is March 29.
Tickets must be picked up at a GSEM office, e-mail Martha Bezzat, mbezzat@girlscoutseasternmass.org, with choice for pick-up location (Waltham, N.Andover, Boston, Middleboro).
The event is for all Scout levels from Daisy to Ambassador. Juliette Scouts in grades K-12 may also register.
The event will be at Harvard University, Bright Hockey Center, 79 North Harvard St.,
Cambridge.

Girl Scout Night at CATS

My Brownie Troop is interested in doing Girl Scout Night at CATS.
I'm posting this to see if another Troop might be interested in joining us.

Broadway in Boston is holding a Girl Scout Night for CATS on Thursday, April 15 at the Colonial Theatre. Curtains rise at 7:30 p.m.
**Tickets are $27. (They are in the balcony).


The Scouts (Brownie level and higher) will be eligible for a Broadway Across America Patch for the back of their vest by attending the CATS show, participating in a pre-show event, a Colonial Theatre tour, and a group Girl Scout photo that night.

The pre-show event is a special meeting with the Animal Rescue League of Boston. scouts will talk about ways you can help care for your pet and get involved with the animal community in your own neighborhood.

Let's Pretend Program for Brownie Scouts at Children's Museum in Holyoke on Saturday, April 17

Girl Scouts of Central & Western Massachusetts and the Children's Museum in Holyoke have teamed up to host a Lets Pretend program for Brownie Scouts on Saturday, April 17 from 10 a.m. to noon. Juliette Scouts in grades 2 & 3 can also register.
program: Movies, stories, television shows, songs and even dance are often based on "make-believe." When you pretend to be someone or something you're not, you're "acting." Go onstage with this workshop and put your best face forward!
The program includes free time in the museum after the program.
Groups may bring a bag lunch and eat in a designated area in the museum.
Troops and individual Scouts may register. Safety-wise rules apply to Troops. Individual Scouts must attend with an adult.

Registration cost is $7 per Scout.
Registration will end on March 26 or when 40 Scouts have registered. An afternoon session will be added, if the morning session fills.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar & Girl Scouts Team up on March 20

Girl Scout Day with The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Broadway Across Boston is offering this special event on Saturday, March 20 at 2 p.m. at the Colonial Theatre in Boston. Tickets are $28.75.

The day includes the chance to earn a Broadway Across America patch and have a theatre adventure with Girl Scouts from the area. Tickets are limited so have your Troop leader order today!

Troops & Scouts that complete these steps below will earn a Broadway Across America Patch!
1. Attend a performance of The Very Hungry Caterpillar on March 20, at 2 p.m. We have set aside seats in the Orchestra just for the Girl Scouts!
2. Be prepared to pose for a picture with Girl Scouts from around New England
3. Take a special tour of Boston’s Colonial Theatre
4. Meet the cast after the show
5. Eric Carle is an author who has published many popular books, three of which are brought to life in this stage production: The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Mixed-Up Chameleon and The Little Cloud. Read one of these books with your troop and compare it to what you saw on stage.
6. Eric Carle creates his characters by cutting and pasting tissue paper, which is called collage. Practice this art technique with your troop to tell your own story.
7. This stage production uses different kinds of puppets to bring Eric Carle’s stories to life. You can make puppets using a paper lunch bag, turning it upside down, and placing your hand in the fold. When you move your hand, you have given your puppet a mouth! Decorate your puppet using paper, markers, fabric or yarn to make it your own.

Kerry O. Key Program for Cadette Scouts in Acton on Jan. 8th

Council Offers Movie Make-Up program for Senior & Ambassador levels

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is holding a Make Up FX program on January 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Medfield. Senior & Ambassador Scouts and Juliette Scouts in grades 9-12 will learn from a pro how to turn an ordinary person into a movie make-up masterpiece.

Cadette "Kerry O. Key" Program in Acton on Jan. 8

Wheelock Family Theatre Workshop for Juniors on Dec. 5

Wheelock Family Theatre Workshop: Each workshop includes 3 classes, and all Junior Scouts will participate in each workshop. Junior Scouts will learn twice as many drama skills as required for theatre badges!

Movement and Mime: make people see invisible things!
Vocal Technique: use your voice in many different ways!
Acting and Improv: create characters of all kinds!
The special program is for Junior or Juliette Scouts in grades 4&5 only. The program will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5 from 8:45 a.m. to noon at Wheelock Family Theatre, 200 The Riverway, in Boston.

Special Event: Space Pirates Show for Scouts on Sunday, March 15

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Council is offering a special program Space Pirates in Danvers on Sunday, March 15.
Space Pirates is a musical adventure through cyberspace - a song-filled battle between technology and imagination. The story begins when the babysitters of a couple of ordinary kids are sucked into a video game. The adventure begins when the kids must figure out how to get into the game! Can they stop Chasm with the help of the Space Pirates, rescue their babysitters, and restore peace and harmony to the universe?
Girl Scouts have an exclusive behind the scenes and onstage tour. Tickets are open Seating.
Tour starts at 1 p.m. Show begins at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are $5 Scouts and $8 leaders/adult volunteers.
Program Level: Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Senior, Ambassador
Event is held at the Hogan Regional Center Auditorium in Danvers.
